耐熱ボウルに水150mlを入れ、電子レンジ600Wで約1分30秒加熱する。
別のボウルにホットケーキミックス150gを入れ、温めた水の半分を加えてゴムベラで軽く混ぜる。
残りの水を半分入れ、すくった時に塊ごとポテッと落ちる固さになるまで混ぜる。（お湯の量は生地の硬さを見ながら調整する）
絞り袋に星の口金をセットし、生地を詰める。
クッキングシートをフライパンのサイズに合わせて小さめにカットしておく。
カットしたクッキングシートの上に生地を2本ずつ絞り出す。絞り終わりは口金を台に付けて切り離す。
フライパンに揚げ油大さじ4を入れ、弱火で火をつける。小さな泡がゆっくり出てきたら揚げ始める合図。
火傷に気をつけながら、生地を乗せたクッキングシートを裏返して油に入れる。
油を表面にかけながら揚げ焼きする。
焼き色が見えたらクッキングシートを剥がし、ひっくり返して側面や裏面がきつね色になるまでコロコロ転がしながら揚げる。
全体がきつね色になったら取り出す。
残りの生地も同様に揚げ焼きする。
砂糖をまぶす場合は、熱いうちにまぶす。
